Differential branching fractions and isospin asymmetries of B -> K ((*)) μ(+) μ(-) decays

The isospin asymmetries of $B \to K\mu^+\mu^-$ and $B \to K^{*}\mu^+\mu^-$ decays and the partial branching fractions of the $B^0 \to K^0\mu^+\mu^-$, $B^+ \to K^+\mu^+\mu^-$ and $B^+ \to K^{*+}\mu^+\mu^-$ decays are measured as functions of the dimuon mass squared, $q^2$. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3$~$fb$^{-1}$ from proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7$\,$TeV and 8$\,$TeV in 2011 and 2012, respectively. The isospin asymmetries are both consistent with the Standard Model expectations. Measurement of polarization amplitudes and CP asymmetries in B 0 → Φk *(892)0

An angular analysis of the decay $B^0 \to \phi K^*(892)^0$ is reported based on a $pp$ collision data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV with the LHCb detector. The P-wave amplitudes and phases are measured with a greater precision than by previous experiments, and confirm about equal amounts of longitudinal and transverse polarization. The S-wave $K^+ \pi^-$ and $K^+K^-$ contributions are taken into account and found to be significant. A comparison of the $B^0 \to \phi K^*(892)^0$ and $\bar{B}^0 \to \phi \bar{K}^*(892)^0$ results shows no evidence for direct CP violation in the rate asymmetry, in th…
Angular analysis of charged and neutral B → Kμ + μ − decays

The angular distributions of the rare decays B → K+µ+µ- and B0 → K0 <inf>a</inf>Sμ+μ- are studied with data corresponding to 3 fb-1 of integrated luminosity, collected in proton-proton collisions at 7 and 8TeV centre-of-mass energies with the LHCb detector. The angular distribution is described by two parameters, FH and the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon system AFB, which are determined in bins of the dimuon mass squared. The parameter F<inf>H</inf> is a measure of the contribution from (pseudo)scalar and tensor amplitudes to the decay width. B-0-(B)over-bar(0) mixing and decay constants with the non-perturbatively improved action

Several quantities relevant to phenomenological studies of B-0-(B) over bar (0) mixing are computed on the lattice. Our main results are f(Bd) root(B) over cap (Bd) = 206(28) (14)(-00)(+31) MeV, xi = f(Bd) root(B) over capB(x)/f(Bd) root(B) over cap (Bd) = 1.16(7). We also obtain the related quantities f(Bs) root(B) over cap (Bs) - 237(18) (10)(-00)(+34) MeV, f(Bd) = 174(22)(-0-0-00)(+7+5+26) MeV, f(Bs) = 204(15)(-0-0-00)(+7+4+31) MeV, f(Bs)/f(Bd) = 1.17(4)(-1)(+0), f(Bd)/f(Ds) = 0.74(5). After combining our results with the experimental world average Deltam(d)((exp)), we predict Deltam(s) = 15.8(2.1)(3.3) ps(-1). First experimental study of photon polarization in radiative B0s decays.

The polarization of photons produced in radiative $B^{0}_{s}$ decays is studied for the first time. The data are recorded by the LHCb experiment in $pp$ collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb$^{-1}$ at center-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8$TeV. A time-dependent analysis of the $B^{0}_{s} \to \phi \gamma$ decay rate is conducted to determine the parameter ${\mathcal{A}}^\Delta$, which is related to the ratio of right- over left-handed photon polarization amplitudes in $b \to s \gamma$ transitions. A value of ${\mathcal{A}}^\Delta=-0.98^{\,+0.46\,+0.23}_{\,-0.52\,-0.20}$ is measured. This result is consistent with the Standard Model prediction within two standard deviatio…
Differential branching fraction and angular analysis of the decay $B^{0} \to K^{*0} \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$

The angular distribution and differential branching fraction of the decay B-0 -> K*(0)mu(+)mu(-) are studied using a data sample, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1). Several angular observables are measured in bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared, q(2). A first measurement of the zero-crossing point of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon system is also presented. The zero-crossing point is measured to be q(0)(2) = 4.9 +/- 0.9 GeV2/c(4), where the uncertainty is the sum of statistical and systematic uncertainties. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions.

Measurement of the B-0 -> K*(0) e(+) e(-) branching fraction at low dilepton mass

The branching fraction of the rare decay B-0 -> K*(0) e(+) e(-) in the dilepton mass region from 30 to 1000 MeV/c(2) has been measured by the LHCb experiment, using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The decay mode B-0 -> J/psi (e(+) e(-)) K*(0) is utilized as a normalization channel. The branching fraction B(B-0 -> K*(0) e(+) e(-)) is measured to be B(B-0 -> K*(0) e(+) e(-))(30-1000 MeV/c2) = (3.1(-0.8)(-0.3)(+0.9)(+0.2) +/- 0.2) x 10(-7) where the fi rst error is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third comes from the uncertainties on the B-0 -> J/K*(0) and J/psi -> e(+) e(-) branching fractions.
